Step 1: Begin Foundation Chain
Step 2: Yarn Over
Step 3: Insert Hook
Step 4: Make 1 HDC, 1 CH, 1HDC
Step 5:Skip 2 chains
Step 6: Repeat Step 2 - 8 until end
Step 7: End the row with 1 HDC
Step 8: Start Next Row
Step 9: Make 1 HDC, 1 CH, 1HDC in first open space between two HDC’s
Step 10: Skip 2 chains
Step 11: Repeat Step 2 - 8 until end

SHORT EXPLANATION
Half Double Crochet in V-Stitch
This V-stitch pattern creates a lacy and openwork fabric with a series of V-shaped spaces.
Step 1: Make Foundation Chain. (Start by making a slip knot and crocheting a foundation chain of the desired length.)
ROW 1
Step 2: Yarn Over. (YO your hook.)
Step 3: Insert Hook. (Insert your crochet hook into the fourth chain from the hook.)
Step 4: Make 1 HDC. (Explanation for this stitch here.)
Step 5: Make 1 Chain.
Step 6: Make 1 HDC. (all 3 sts from step 3-6 in the same fourth chain)
Step 7: Skip 2 chains. (Insert hook into the sixth chain from the hook.)
Step 8: Repeat Steps 2 - 6. (Work HDC, CH , HDC in this sixth chain.)
Step 9: Skip 2 chains. (Repeat from steps 2-6 to end of row.)
Step 10: Make 1 HDC in last chain of row.
Step 11: Chain 2 and turn.
ROW 2
Step 11: Make 1 HDC in the first open space that is between the HDCs of the previous row, work 1 CH, work 1 HDC.
Step 12: Skip 2 chains and insert hook in 3rd chain.
Step 13: Repeat Steps 11 - 12. (Work HDC, CH , HDC and continue to skip 2 chains.)
Step 14: End row with 1 HDC into the top of the turning chain.)
Step 15: Chain 2 and turn.
