The UFO isn't lost.

Calling It a UFO Doesn't Make You Charming. It Makes You Avoidant.

The knitting world has a very cute name for unfinished objects. UFOs. Like the problem is mysterious. Like nobody knows quite what happened or where things went. Like federal investigators might need to get involved.

But we know. We know exactly what happened. The pattern got fiddly around row 34. The gauge was off and fixing it sounded like a whole thing. Or, and this is the one we really don't say out loud, we just got bored. The yarn was less exciting once it left the skein. The project was better as an idea than as an actual Wednesday evening.

Unfinished objects are not charming little eccentricities. They are decisions. Perfectly valid ones. But let's be honest about what we decided.

"The UFO isn't lost in space. You know exactly where you put it."
